St. Louis University had four players chosen in the first 16 in the Major League Soccer draft on Tuesday, headed by forward Isaiah Parker going to Dallas with the third pick overall.
Defender Kipp Keller was chosen with the fifth pick by Austin and goalie Patrick Schulte was chosen by Columbus with the 12th pick. Forward Simon Becher was taken 16th by Vancouver.
Another St. Louis player, Jack Lynn, who went from Chaminade to play at Notre Dame, was taken by Orlando City with the 18th pick.
Parker was the highest Billiken chosen in the draft since Brad Davis was taken with the third pick by the MetroStars (now New York Red Bulls) in 2002. The most recent SLU player to go in the first round was Tim Ward, the 12th pick in 2005, by the MetroStars.
SLU came up one draftee short of matching the MLS record of five first-round picks, by Akron in 2011.
This is the last MLS draft that St. Louis City SC, which starts play in 2023, won't be part of. City will have the first pick in next season's college draft.
